Myco Nutri Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) - now NEW & IMPROVED FORMULATION Full spectrum extract rich in hericenones & erinacines.

Lion’s Mane is a distinctive edible mushroom that grows on aged hardwood trees. Due to its protected status in parts of Europe and including the UK, MycoNutri™ Lion’s Mane is produced exclusively from cultivated H. erinaceus.

Now produced exclusively from fruiting body high-concentration & full-spectrum extract, providing naturally higher level of beta-glucans, Hericenones and Erinacines derived from the mushroom itself.

This updated formula follows a balanced, natural extraction philosophy, respecting the inherent harmony of the mushroom’s active compounds rather than isolating or exaggerating individual ingredients.

It reflects a holistic approach similar to the Traditional TCM principle of “Jun–Chen–Zuo–Shi”, where each component supports and complements the others to achieve overall balance and efficacy.

The result is a formula that delivers broader nutritional activity and enhanced support for overall wellbeing.

Increased Extract = higher levels of hericenones and erinacines

By incorporating both Hericenones and Erinacines alongside beta-glucans, MycoNutri™ Lion's mane delivers a truly full-spectrum extract, reflecting the mushroom's full potential and natural synergy. Contains a Min. Beta glucans >30%

Growing Seasons

Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) was once a rare wild fungus found on ageing hardwood trees deep in the forest. Following years of research into domestication, China became the first country to achieve reliable large-scale cultivation in the 1980s.

Lion’s Mane for MycoNutri™ is grown in the Wuyi Mountain region of Fujian Province, generally at elevations above 800-1,000 metres metres.

Growing characteristics: Two cultivation cycles per year:

  • Spring flush: March–May
  • Autumn flush: September–November

Mountain villages specialise exclusively in either Lion’s Mane or Tremella because the two species require different microclimates.

Cultivation prioritises “spine” (teeth) development rather than appearance, as this is where functional compounds concentrate.

  • Substrate: natural hardwood sawdust + organic wheat bran.
  • No pesticides or chemical fertilisers. Physical pest-control only.
  • MycoNutri™ works with long-established growing partners in regions where the climate, humidity and forestry conditions are ideal for producing consistent, high-quality mushrooms. The cultivation process uses natural hardwood sawdust and certified organic wheat bran as the growth substrate — no pesticides, no chemical fertilisers.

Each growing cycle is carefully monitored for temperature, humidity and airflow to ensure healthy mycelial development and dense, well-formed fruiting bodies. Farmers prioritise the development of the characteristic spines — the fine, hair-like structures rich in functional compounds — rather than cosmetic perfection.

After harvest, the mushrooms are dried under controlled temperature and airflow, preserving their beta-glucans and other bioactive components. The result is a clean, traceable and stable raw material, ready for full-spectrum extraction.

Growing Seasons:

Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is cultivated in the mountainous region of Gutian, located within the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian Province, at elevations of over 800-1,000 metres. The natural highland climate — cool, humid and misty — provides ideal conditions for mushroom development.
Cultivation follows two main fruiting periods each year:

Spring season – from March to May
Autumn season – from September to November

Provenance: MycoNutri™ works with experienced growers in the Gutian region of Fujian, an area renowned for its long-standing tradition of edible and medicinal mushroom cultivation. The mushrooms are grown on natural hardwood sawdust and certified organic wheat bran substrates, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers.

Manufacturing

Drying Fruiting body
Fresh fruiting bodies are dried under controlled temperature and airflow.
Unlike culinary drying, extraction-dedicated drying removes sufficient moisture while protecting polysaccharide integrity.

Hot-Water Extraction (Twice)
Extracts water-soluble Polysaccharides (beta-glucans)
Concentration is performed to preserve molecular structure.

Alcohol Extraction (Twice)
Captures low-polarity compounds including hericenones and erinacines.
MycoNutri™ developed a staged-concentration method to avoid scorching and maintain compound integrity.

Combination of All Fractions
All extracts are recombined to form a true full-spectrum profile.
Finely milled fruiting-body powder is used as a natural carrier, retaining:
- insoluble beta-glucans
- dietary fibre
- structural polysaccharides
